He enjoys being with his family, playing with his friends,
and running through the feild behind his home, flying his kite.
He is a good boy and tries to remember to do his chores,
although he does seem to enjoy teasing his big sister, Sandra.

The next day after school Kevin took his dog, Rosy, to the big
field behind his home. He didn't feel much like running or kite flying,
but cloud watching was always a good idea.
He lay his head on the soft grass and as the cool wind kissed his
forehead he looked up into the puffs of white clouds and asked,
"God, dear Lord, are... you... there?"
He watched the clouds for the longest time. He thought about
many things and he asked his questions many times.
Kevin loved the grass and the wind and the sky. He felt good inside,
but he wanted to know.

"How do you know?" asked Kevin.

( Pages 22 and 23 )
"Miracles?" Kevin asked, "What miracles?"
Kevin's Dad grabbed him in a great big bear hug.
"Miracles like you Kevin. Now go to bed and don't
forget your prayers."
"Oh, I won't dad," Kevin said. "Believe me I won't."

... So I left him by the old tree
on my journey soon to start.
With faith and love and hope and fear
And wisdom in my heart
Once more I turned and saw Him
standing by the tree,
And somehow deep inside I knew,
that He would wait for me.
Then once more I heard his voice,
strong, yet soft and clear,
He said, "I love you, son,
you have no need to fear.
